More than worshippers welcome

Fredericton’s historic churches opened their doors to the public on September 27 as part of Doors Open Fredericton. St. Anne’s Chapel of Ease, St. Paul’s United Church, Brunswick Street Baptist Church, St. Dunstan’s Church, and Wilmot United Church were part of the event. People were left to wander around the churches, examining the windows and architecture.

Doors Open Fredericton is part of the Doors Open Canada program, which was created by the Heritage Canada Foundation to allow people to visit buildings of architectural, cultural or historic value, which are not normally open to the public.

Eighteen of Fredericton’s buildings opened their doors to the public as part of the third annual Doors Open Fredericton. The new Northside Fire Station and E. John Bliss Water Treatment Plant were also opened to the public.
