Samantha Both, 3rd Year

I’m a third year student majoring in Journalism and Sociology. I’m also pursuing minors in both Political Science and History. I hope to someday work as a foreign correspondent so I can travel the world and report on the issues our societies are constantly battling.  I have keen interest in political journalism. Growing up I was always acutely aware of what was happening in the world and what governments were doing. I am especially interested in American politics and hope that my career will someday take me center stage in Washington.

I’m also very interested in the study of society, and why our societies are the way they way they are , hence majoring in Sociology.  I like to look at the big issues like inequality and power relations. I expect to someday take part in a sociological study of ancient societies and how they differ from our own.

I love history. I think it’s a big part of who we are and it’s intricately tied to all of us. I hope that as a foreign correspondent I get to explore the treasures our world has to offer and I hope I get to experience some tastes of the past.
