Snow is falling in Fredericton and all over the Maritimes. Environment Canada has issued a weather warning in North-West New Brunswick where snowfall amounts are expected to reach 30 cm. Environment Canada has also issued a warning to Nova Scotia, parts of Quebec and Newfoundland and  Labrador.

In Fredericton, the light snow that began this morning is covering sheets of ice all over the city that froze over-night. According to Environment Canada, the snow, which is at times expected to be heavy, will turn into ice pellets late this afternoon.

The snow and ice pellets will amount to between 10 and 15 cm in Fredericton. Tonight the ice pellets will change to freezing rain and then to rain later in the night. About 15 mm of rain is expected.
